About the NH James, Jr. Foundation

Founded in 1994 by Nathaniel Hawthorne James, Jr., the NH James, Jr. Foundation was created to uplift youth and build stronger communities. What began as C.I.T.Y. (Community Interested in Today’s Youth)—a sports and leadership program in Duncan, Oklahoma—has grown into a legacy of mentorship, education, and hope.

Sonny and Kaye

You cannot talk about the Legacy of NH James, Jr. without mentioning Kaye Francis Williams-James. She was by his side from the very beginning. She prophesized that God would turn him around. Then later pronounced “This Year (1975) I'm gonna turn him around." God did just what he promised. Together they were a force to be reckoned with. She led the noonday prayer and many souls accepted Christ and were delivered through the prayer. She is a mighty prayer warrior! Her sacrifice and labor of love did not go unnoticed. She served him until the very end.

C.I.T.Y. was founded by Nathaniel Hawthorne James, Jr. The organization served the city of Duncan with community development programs, offering youth jobs and training as well as sports programs. He also had a mentoring program to help young men were fatherless, teaching them how to be strong men of valor. His work in the community will always be remembered. Nathaniel went on to be with the Lord on December 17, 2020. His Legacy remains on, forever.
